The Survey CAD Technician will play a critical role in supporting our civil engineering and surveying projects. This position requires a minimum of one year of professional full-time CAD experience in a similar industry, with a focus on utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or GeoPAK. The role entails processing raw information from designers, creating construction plans, and accurately importing survey data. A strong understanding of the metric system is essential, along with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and solve problems efficiently.

Skills

Responsibilities

Perform basic mathematical calculations for projects
Detail and develop construction plans from raw data
Review and check plans for accuracy
Utilize station offset methods for setting points
Process engineering calculations using software with minimal supervision
Produce site plans and utility layouts with guidance from designers
Generate stake-out coordinates for field crew
Import survey data into Civil 3D
Create boundary, topographical, and As-built surveys

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of CAD experience in a similar industry
Proficient in Civil 3D and CAD standards
Strong mathematical skills
Ability to interpret and map existing utilities accurately

Education Requirements

High school diploma required
Associate’s degree preferred but not required

High school graduate or equivalent experience

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of full-time CAD experience
Experience with civil engineering drafting strongly desired
Familiarity with creating and importing survey data

a. Creating, modifying and fixing DTMs/Surfaces.

b. Knowledge of how to create, modify and use Point Groups.

c. Creating and importing data into a Survey Database.

d. Creating break lines from Survey Figures and modifying Survey Figures.

e. Interpreting and Mapping existing utilities accurately from a variety of record types including scans, JPGs, PDFs and GIS data.

7. Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
